Answer: There are two different options available for underfloor heating – wet and electric.

Wet underfloor heating makes use of plastic pipes which are under the floor and they heat up using warm water from the central heating systems.

Electric underfloor heating consists of heat mats, these are packed with electric wires which warm up once they have connected to the mains electric supply as well as the thermostat.

Question: How long does it take for underfloor heating to warm up?

Answer: the time all depends on the thickness of the floor, how well the floor is insulated and how you lay the insulation down. Generally, the consensus estimates that it takes roughly 30 minutes for a wooden floor to heat up, however for a concrete floor it may take up to a few hours.

Answer: Installation of underfloor heating my be done beneath most flooring solutions, vinyl. Laminate, stone, tiles and even carpet /can all be laid on top of underfloor heating. For the thicker floors better insulation is required.

Question: Can I put furniture on top of underfloor heating?

Answer: Yes, one can put furniture on top of underfloor heating, ideally free-standing furniture is preferable. Please Be careful when placing large rugs or dog beds on the floor as they may trap heat and might cause issues.
